Function in Play

  • No Kindred enters the Tower of London.
  • In the Dark Ages, Mithras’s haven was in tunnels beneath the Tower. Something happened — something dark is buried underground, something that predates Mithras and possibly predates the Romans.
  • The Tower radiates a wrongness that Kindred sense instinctively. Even Mithras eventually abandoned it.
  • By 1969, the prohibition is so old that most Kindred don’t know WHY they avoid it — they just do.
  • The mortal world sees a tourist attraction; the Kindred world sees a door that must never be opened.
