1969 flashback

Age 22 in 1969. Born 1947. The archetypical hippie. Waist-length dirty blonde hair that occasionally needs an iron to keep straight. Cornflower-blue eyes highlight a rather homely face. Her habitual look of wonder leads people to believe she is naive — a fact she often uses to her advantage.

Met Lodin at the Woodstock Music Festival. His old-fashioned manner and clothing clashed with the tie-dyes and flowers, yet she was inexplicably drawn to him. She was most amazed by his display of physical prowess — catching Pete Townshend’s guitar when the musician threw it into the crowd. She has been with him ever since.

Personal attendant and hostess. Handles some of Lodin’s political affairs — she has an affinity with people and uses her apparent innocence to get them off guard. When Lodin needs someone softened up, he turns to Amber. She provides him with blood in emergencies. In return, Lodin supplies whatever she needs, though he has cut back on the drugs.

Best friends with Derek — they slept together once, moved past it, and now conspire about the others. Fears Natasha. Teases Julian because he flusters easily but rather likes him. Follows Roarke instinctively in a crisis — he is her pillar of strength.

In the 1969 London flashback, Amber cooks French food in Lodin’s penthouse, fakes a collapse at Heathrow customs to cover the crate, and says “wow” when briefed about London.

Nature: Conformist. Demeanor: Hedonist.
